36 Weeks

Sydney is still having apnea and brady episodes and they are really starting to concern us. This has not been a problem for her until the last 4 or 5 days. We're waiting on the results of her blood work to see if she has an infection and the doctors have started her on some antibiotics in the meantime. If she doesn't have an infection then we will stop the antibiotics. She had a very bad episode shortly after we walked in last night and they actually had to switch her from the low flow cannula to a higher flow. She's still on the high flow this morning.

The nurse said she had 4 more episodes during the night and she notices that they happen right around feeding time. She believes she may have reflux because she says when she suctions her she gets milk coming back up. It then occurred to me that these episodes started on Monday, the day they started feeding her through her nose. They put the tube in her nose so that they wouldn't have to remove it when we do bottle feedings but I don't think she's a fan. Last night she completely pulled the tube out of her nose and also pushed the oxygen tube in her mouth. Everytime we would fix it, she would attempt to remove it again. I will speak to her doctor this morning and ask them to try putting the tube back in her mouth this morning and see if that makes a difference.

Please keep her in your prayers.
