I just spoke with Sydney's lead doctor and she's doing much better today. She's actually at 21% on the ventilator now, which was where she was when they extubated her. It's great that she was able to go right back to that level with no problems. The doctor said they would have extubated her yesterday anyway, if only for enough time to change all the tubes that can promote infection. They just wanted to give her a chance to see where she was at but they're not really surprised that she wasn't quite ready yet.
She's very relaxed now and not having any oxygen or heart rate issues at all and her feedings remain unchanged. They're planning to try extubation again when she's closer to 30 weeks developmentally.

Oh honey! She just needs to get a little stronger. My heart as usual is with you, Brian and Sydney. She is a little fighter like our boy!
Sydney's testing her parents already. I pity you guys when she turns 14!
