Day 30

After many more tests, the doctors decided to eliminate Sydney's caffeine dose yesterday. Many young preemies are given caffeine as a stimulant to encourage them to breathe. They felt that her dosage may have been too high now and that it was contributing to her elevated heartrate. They ordered a test to check her caffeine levels and we should get the results some time today. It seemed to have helped because her heartrate is now between 170 and 180 and we hope it goes down a tiny bit more. If she gets caffeine again, it will be at a greatly reduced dose.

She's doing well in every other way and weighs 2lb 4oz this morning! Looks like the cheesecake helped. :D

Better to break the caffeine dependence early on, haha. Just don't try to cut off *my* supply. Go Sydney!!
